People ask me why I got divorced.
Well, it all started last week, on my birthday.
When I woke up that morning, my wife didn’t say a word. No “happy birthday,” no kiss, no card — nothing.
I checked my phone, hoping maybe my parents had remembered.
Nothing.
Even my kids forgot.
By the time I got to work, I was feeling pretty miserable. I thought maybe at least one of my colleagues would remember.
But no.
I walked through the office, said good morning to everyone, and not a single person wished me happy birthday.
Then I entered my office, and my secretary looked up with a big smile.
“Happy birthday, boss!”
I couldn’t believe it. She was the only person who remembered. I felt so special.
A little later, she asked me if I wanted to go out for lunch.
Of course, I said yes.
We had a nice lunch together, and afterward she smiled and said, “Why don’t we go back to my apartment for a little while?”
I was surprised, but I agreed.
When we arrived, she looked at me and said, “Do you mind if I go into the bedroom for a minute?”
“Okay,” I said.
Five minutes later, she came out carrying a birthday cake.
Behind her were my wife, my parents, my kids, my friends, and all my colleagues.
They all shouted:
“SURPRISE!!!”
While I was waiting on the sofa… naked.
