Three Italian nuns arrived at the Pearly Gates, where St. Peter greeted them with a warm smile.
“Welcome, Sisters! You’ve all lived such wonderful, devoted lives that I’m granting each of you a special reward. You may return to Earth for six months as anyone you wish!”
The first nun immediately exclaimed,
“Oh, wonderful! I want to be Sophia Loren!”
POOF! She disappeared.
The second nun stepped forward excitedly.
“And I want to be Madonna!”
POOF! She vanished too.
Finally, St. Peter turned to the third nun.
“And who would you like to be, Sister?”
She smiled confidently.
“I want to be Sara Pipalini!”
St. Peter scratched his head.
“Sara… who?”
“Sara Pipalini!” she repeated proudly.
“I’m sorry, Sister, but I’ve never heard of her.”
The nun sighed, reached into her habit, and pulled out a newspaper clipping.
“Look, St. Peter! She’s right here in the newspaper!”
St. Peter adjusted his glasses and began reading.
Suddenly, he burst out laughing.
He handed the newspaper back to her and said,
“No sister, the paper says it was the ‘Sahara Pipeline’ that was laid by 1,400 men in 6 months.”
