Two nuns were walking through a quiet forest one afternoon, enjoying the fresh air and peaceful surroundings.
Everything was calm until they heard a loud crack behind them.
They turned around and froze.
A huge bear had stepped out from between the trees and was staring straight at them.
For one second, nobody moved.
Then the bear growled.
The two nuns lifted their robes and started running as fast as they could down the narrow forest path.
Branches scratched their arms, leaves flew everywhere, and the bear was getting closer with every second.
One nun glanced back and gasped, “Sister! Do you think we’ll be able to outrun him?”
The other nun kept running, breathing hard but looking surprisingly focused.
“I don’t have to outrun him, Sister,” she said.
The first nun frowned. “What do you mean?”
The second nun looked straight ahead and replied:
“I only have to outrun you.”
