Two old ladies were sitting at a bus stop one afternoon, chatting, smoking cigarettes and complaining about the weather.
Without warning, it began to rain.
One of the women calmly reached into her handbag, pulled out a condom, stretched it out, snipped the tip off, and carefully slipped it over her cigarette.
Then she continued smoking as if this were the most normal thing in the world.
Her friend stared at her in amazement.
“What on earth is that?”
“It’s a condom,” the woman replied. “Keeps the cigarette dry.”
The second old lady nodded slowly, clearly impressed.
“That’s brilliant. Where do you get those?”
“At any pharmacy.”
She made a mental note to buy one the next time she picked up her prescription.
A few days later, she walked into the local pharmacy and approached the young man behind the counter.
She smiled politely and said,
“Young man, I would like to buy a condom, please.”
The pharmacist blinked.
He glanced at her, then quickly tried to look professional.
“Wow. Good for you! No one has ever asked me for help with that before.”
The old woman simply waited.
The pharmacist cleared his throat.
“Um… what size do you need?”
She frowned thoughtfully.
She hadn’t realized there were sizes.
For several seconds, she stood there trying to remember exactly what kind her friend had used.
Finally, her face brightened.
“I need one that will fit a camel.”
