A man came home from work one evening, opened the front door, and barely had time to put down his briefcase before his wife charged toward him.
SMACK!
Then another.
SMACK!
“Woah woah woah…what gives?!?” the man says.
His wife was furious.
She kept smacking him left and right while shouting words he was fairly certain she had never used in front of him before.
Finally, she stopped long enough to reach into her pocket.
“I picked up your coat from the dry cleaners earlier today, and found THIS in the pocket!” his wife exclaims.
She held up a small piece of paper.
On it was a woman’s name and a string of numbers.
The husband stared at it for a second.
Then his face relaxed.
“That?!? Honey it’s the name of a horse I’m betting on this weekend! Come on!!”
His wife froze.
She looked at the note.
Then at him.
Slowly, the anger disappeared from her face.
Feeling embarrassed, she apologized.
The husband smiled, accepted the apology, and walked away looking extremely relieved.
The next evening, he came home from work feeling confident that the whole misunderstanding was behind them.
He opened the door.
His wife lunged at him again.
This time, the smacking was even harder.
“What did I do this time?!?” the man bellows with his arms guarding his face.
His wife glared at him and shouted,
“The HORSE called!”
