Video: The Toothpaste Trap

For 25 years, my wife had one major complaint about me:

“I wish you would put the cap back on the toothpaste!”

So, for our anniversary, I decided to become a better husband.

For an entire week, I carefully put the cap back on the toothpaste every single time.

No mess.

No excuses.

Perfectly capped toothpaste.

I was secretly waiting for my wife to notice and say,

“Wow, honey! You’ve changed!”

But… nothing.

Not a word.

Finally, over dinner, I couldn’t take it anymore.

I asked,

“Have you noticed anything different lately?”

She looked at me for a moment and said,

“Actually, yes.”

I smiled proudly.

She continued,

“Why have you stopped brushing your teeth?”

I just stared at her.

Twenty-five years of marriage…

And apparently, I had been fighting the wrong battle.

Marriage: where even your biggest improvement can somehow become your biggest mistake.
