Three men were standing on the bank of a wide river, trying to figure out how to get across.

The water was deep, the current was strong, and there was no obvious way to cross.

The first man looked up and prayed, “Please give me the strength to cross this river.”

Suddenly, he grew huge arms and powerful legs.

Without hesitation, he jumped into the water and swam across with all his might. It was difficult, but he made it to the other side.

The second man watched this and decided to pray as well.

“Please give me the strength and the ability to cross this river.”

Suddenly, a rowboat appeared in front of him.

He climbed in, grabbed the oars, and rowed across the river. The current pushed him around a little, but eventually he reached the other side safely.

The third man saw what had happened to the first two and thought carefully.

Then he prayed, “Please give me the strength, the ability, and the intelligence to cross this river.”

Suddenly, poof!

He turned into a woman.

She looked around, took out a map, walked a little way down the riverbank, found the bridge, and crossed the river.
