A husband and wife were having one of those quiet, emotional conversations about life, love, and the future.
At one point, the husband looked at his wife seriously and said, “If I die before you, promise me one thing.”
His wife immediately became emotional.
“What is it?” she asked gently.
He took her hand and said, “Promise me you won’t get married again.”
Her eyes softened.
“Oh,” she said, touched. “That’s so sweet. You want to be my only one forever?”
The husband shook his head.
“No, it’s not that.”
She frowned slightly. “Then why?”
He sighed and replied:
“I just don’t want two people mourning me at the same time!”
