My seven-year-old son came home from school today looking very proud of himself.
He dropped his backpack by the door, ran into the living room, and said, “Dad, I’ve got a riddle for you.”
I smiled and said, “Alright, let’s hear it.”
He stood in front of me with a serious face and asked, “What kind of mouse can walk on two legs?”
I thought about it for a moment, then shrugged.
“I don’t know,” I said.
He burst out laughing. “Mickey Mouse!”
I laughed too. “Okay, that was pretty good.”
Then he grinned and said, “I’ve got another one.”
“Go on,” I said, already feeling more confident.
He asked, “What kind of duck can walk on two legs?”
This time, I didn’t hesitate. I leaned back proudly and answered, “Donald Duck.”
My son shook his head, rolled his eyes, and said:
“No, all ducks, you silly.”
