During a staff meeting, my boss was complaining that nobody in the office showed him enough respect.
“I’m in charge around here!” he declared. “And it’s about time everyone remembered that!”
The next morning, he arrived at work carrying a brand-new sign that read:
“I’m the Boss.”
Looking rather pleased with himself, he proudly taped it to his office door.
“There!” he said. “That should make things clear!”
Feeling confident that he’d finally established his authority, he headed out for lunch.
But when he returned, he noticed someone had taped another note directly underneath his sign.
It said:
“Your wife called; she wants her sign back.”
