One quiet morning, 94-year-old Grandma Ethel walked into church with a mischievous smile and headed straight for the confessional.
“Good morning, my child,” said the priest. “What would you like to confess?”
Ethel sighed dramatically.
“Well, Father, last night I went on a date with a handsome 22-year-old man!”
The priest nearly dropped his rosary.
“Twenty-two?! Ethel, you’re ninety-four!”
“I know, Father!” she giggled. “He took me to a lovely restaurant, we had dinner, danced, laughed all evening, and then… we went back to his apartment!”
The priest gasped.
“My goodness, Ethel! Did something inappropriate happen?”
Ethel burst into laughter.
“Oh no, Father! Nothing like that!”
The priest breathed a sigh of relief.
“Well then, my child, what exactly are you confessing?”
Ethel leaned closer to the screen, grinning proudly.
“I’m confessing that I lied to him about my age… and I’d do it again.”
The priest sits there stunned, then slowly starts laughing himself.
Sometimes the real sin isn’t what you did — it’s how confidently you got away with it.
